Who is your GP?

All patients at Park Practice have a named, accountable GP who is responsible for patients’ overall care at the practice. Your named GP has been allocated to you by the practice. If you have a repeat prescription you can find the name of your allocated GP at the bottom of this. If you do not have a repeat prescription and you wish to know who your allocated GP is, please contact the practice.

If you have a preference for a particular GP at the practice, talk to one of our receptionists. We will do our very best to accommodate your request, although this cannot be guaranteed due to the different workload of our GPs.

Dr Martin Writer

He completed his General Practice training in Somerset and worked in Australia, before coming to work in Eastbourne, at Park Practice, in 1997. He is married with two boys, one dog, three guinea pigs, six fish (at the last count), and twenty-two chickens! His interests include child health and psychiatry, as well as developing health services in the area, and work as a practice quality assessor. His spare time is spent trying to train both dogs and children, as well as renovating an old house and garden.

Dr Dave Thomas

Dave Thomas trained at Southampton Medical School and Eastbourne District General Hospital, and joined Park Practice on completion of his GP Training in 2003. Married with three children, Dave enjoys playing and watching most sports.

Dr Nick Harvey

Dr Nick Harvey was born and bred on the island of Guernsey and left to go to Medical School in Southampton, qualifying in 2003. He has gradually migrated east having spent time working in the surgical field in the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Brighton with a stint in New Zealand. He eventually chose a career in General Practice and completed this specialty training in Brighton and Seaford and joined Park Practice in 2011. His main professional interests include minor surgery and education. Being married with four young children keeps him busy enough but when he has time he enjoys the outdoors, namely running and cycling. Other passions which he hopes to indulge in again soon include sailing, skiing and expedition medicine.

Dr David Price

David Price trained in Sheffield and qualified in 2009. He joined us at Park Practice in 2014 and has a special interest in dermatology. Married with two young children, David is an ex rugby player who now enjoys watching and coaching the sport.

Ric trained at St George's Hospital Medical School, qualifying in 2001. He undertook his GP training in Eastbourne before becoming a Partner at a practice in Polegate for nearly 7 years. Married with three children, Ric enjoys playing squash and geocaching when time permits!

Dr Jemma Romain

Jemma studied medicine in Southampton and qualified in 2004. She has always worked by the sea including places such as Poole, Worthing and a stint on the coast with her husband in New Zealand for their honeymoon. On return from her Antipodean adventure she decided to pursue a career in general practice and trained in Brighton, Buxted and Seaford (interrupted periodically by the birth of children.). Jemma joined Park Practice in 2011. In her spare time she likes to run, cycle, draw, sing and bake, not necessarily in that order. And if that doesn't wear her out it’s over to the children - all four of them. Jemma became a Partner in April 2018.

Dr Rachel Stevens

Rachel qualified from St George's Hospital Medical School, London, in 2001 and came to Eastbourne to train as a GP. She worked as a salaried GP in another Eastbourne practice for 8 years during which time she married and had 2 children. She has returned to the area following two years working in the Midlands and joined Park Practice in 2015.
Most of Rachel's spare time is spent with her young family but when time permits she enjoys using her gym membership to drink coffee, and socialising with friends. Rachel became a Partner in June 2018.
